OK, so apparently there area a bunch of folks getting together and heading out to a funeral for IE. Of course, the very concept completely cracked me up… and at first I thought it was a joke.

Some of the replies on the official funeral site is hilarious.

From Heff Bryan:

I’m sorry, little fella, for all the times I cursed you. Remember that time we were eating BBQ together and you choked on Javascript and I had to give you the heimlich? It was cute the way you kept asking for help with your little popup windows and “0×3Fd7 Segment Fault” stuff that I never really understood. Miss ya, pal.

Stas:

A day to be remembered by web developers around the world!

Mark

He was the cool kid in high school. I used to look up to IE6 and hoped someday I would be as cool as him. Then at my 10 year reunion I ran into IE6 and realized he hadn’t changed a bit. He never grew up, and it was a said sight to see. What was cool 10 years ago just wasn’t cool anymore. I never thought I would see the day when I would say IE6 was really a total douchebag . I hope his brothers turn out better then he.

I for one will NOT miss IE6, and frankly feel that IE7 and IE8 can be put to rest with it.
